High effort pass rusher/playmaker who can play the strongside and shift to defensive end on passing downs.

Strengths
  • A leader on the field. Plays with lots of passion and a non-stop motor
  • Great instincts and anticipation - Has a nose for the football
  • Good burst and acceleration
  • Tremendous quickness as a blitzer
  • Best stand up pass rusher in college football - 29 career sacks
  • Solid upper body strength
  • Can be a difference maker on special teams  - 2 blocked kicks in 2009
  • Steps up in big games and elevates the level of play of those around him
  • Underrated
  • 3 year starter

Weaknesses
  • Too aggressive at times. Tends to overrun plays
  • Does not have great measureables
  • Lack of height - there are very few 6-1 rush linebackers
  • The stopwatches will say he is a step slow
  • Does not have great range in coverage
  • Plays best going downhill
  • Pass Coverage. As a 4-3 SLB in the pros, Norwood would be asked to cover more than he does currently at South Carolina
