Draft Result Drafted in the 2010 Draft by the New Orleans Saints in the 2nd round with the #32 pick.
An athletic former tight end with left tackle potential who get a chance to learn behind a productive New Orleans offensive line. Provides insurance for Jamaal Brown.

Strengths
  • Converted from tight end
  • Athletic body. Body movement looks different than average offensive tackle
  • Moves his feet well and can handle speed rushers
  • Tremendous lead blocker on sweep plays
  • Moves down the line well on counter plays. The NFL running game requires delayed hand offs against aggressive defenses
  • Offensive line at USC was well coached and emphasized fundamentals. Brown might actually be a better left guard prospect than left tackle
  • The most underrated offensive lineman in the draft

Weaknesses
  • Needs to bulk up. Brown is quick at 285lbs, but could get dominated in the running game playing at this weight
  • Not as sharp from a technique standpoint as most tackles. The conversion from tight end is still a work in progress
  • Drive blocking needs improvement
  • Not overly physical
