Draft Result Drafted in the 2010 Draft by the Cleveland Browns in the 1st round with the #7 pick.
Trapped in a difficult spot with Eric Berry off the board, the Browns filled a need at cornerback with Joe Haden. He was the top corner in this year's draft and will provide the Browns with an instinctive physical presence at corner. Haden will combine Sheldon Brown and Eric Wright to upgrade the Browns secondary and allow them to dial up their blitz packages to disquise the team's lack of an elite pass rusher.

Strengths
  • Consensus top cornerback in the 2010 NFL Draft
  • Tremendous all-around athlete
  • Natural man coverage skills
  • Plays the ball well and shows good coverage instincts
  • Aggressive in run support. Loves to tackle - over 80 tackles each of last two seasons
  • Good recovery and closing speed
  • Able to turn and run with receivers
  • Can play man or zone coverage
  • Has the skillset to be a shutdown corner

Weaknesses
  • A tad undersized - could struggle against larger receivers at the pro level.
  • Lacks long speed - ran a 4.6 40 at the combine which means he will be difficulct to leave on an island
  • Tends to be over-aggressive at times. Could be prone to getting beat on hitch and go routes
  • Needs to refine his technique - gets by too much on natural talent
