Draft Result Drafted in the 2010 Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 1st round with the #13 pick.
The Eagles added a trench warrior in the Andy Reid mold while filling their need for a defensive end with the selection of Brandon Graham. He lacks ideal size but has a non-stop motor and is a dynamic pass rusher in the Dwight Freeney mold. His value goes beyond being a one dimensional pass rusher as Graham is factor against the run as witnessed by his 26 TFL in 2009. His abilities against the run and pass may limit the need to blitz as often as the Eagles have in the past thus cutting down on the number big plays they give up.

Strengths
  • An energizer bunny - Plays with excellent intensity and a high motor
  • Never gives up on a play
  • Tremendous burst off the ball
  • Gets good leverage
  • Plays under control when making plays in the backfield
  • Tenacious two-way player who is equally adept at rushing the passer and stopping the run
  • 26 TFL (led Division I) and 10.5 sacks in 2009
  • Powerfully built. Tremendous lower body strength
  • Good football IQ
  • One of the most impressive players at the 2010 Senior Bowl

Weaknesses
  • A tweener without a true position
  • Undersized for a 4-3 DE but likely the position his skills fit best
  • Hasn't shown the athleticism to drop into coverage as a 3-4 OLB or SLB
  • Short arms
  • Has a tendency to bite on misdirection plays
