QuarterbackCA number of teams need quarterbacks but this class lacks top talent. Some say Matt Ryan is a top 5 pick but others say he isn't even top 20. The position makes up for its lack of star power with depth.
Running BackB+Thanks to an influx of underclassmen, running back becomes one of the strongest and deepest positions in the draft.
FullbackCFullbacks will never dominate the draft boards, but there are few that may be drafted.
Wide ReceiverCUnlike recent years, there is not a lot of 1st round talent. Depth is good esp. in the tall receiver category.
Tight EndC+There isn't an elite prospect but there are a number of good receiving tight ends.
Offensive TackleAThe best and deepest position in the draft. Arguably the best tackle draft in recent memory. There could be as many as 6 tackles taken in the first round.
GuardD+Aside from Branden Albert there is not a great deal of 1st day talent at the guard position. If your team needs a guard, you may want to draft a tackle.
CenterDOne of the drafts weakest positions, only one center has a 1st-3rd round grade.
Defensive TackleA-Two defensive tackles could be taken in the top 5. There is also a lot of depth with a number of players with 2nd and 3rd round grades.
Defensive EndA-There are as many as 6 defensive ends with 1st round grades. A much deeper class than in previous years
3-4 Linebacker
Outside LinebackerB-There are few 1st round types but the draft is loaded with undersized outside backers.
Inside LinebackerCNot a top heavy class. There may not be a 1st round ILB but 4 should go off the board by the end of round 2. Overall, the draft is lacking in big ILBs.
CornerbackCThere is not a Top 10 quality corner in the draft but there could be as many as four corners taken in round 1. The position depth is lacking as well.
SafetyDThe talent dropoff is steep after the top 3. Strong safety is esp. lacking in talent this year.
KickerCKickers rarely make the highlights (unless they injure themselves celebrating), but you want a good one when the game is tied with seconds left.
PunterBPunters like these can allow you to pin the opposing offense against the goal line.
