Lavelle Hawkins
NFL Draft Scouting Report

Wide Receiver

California

College Position: Wide Receiver
School: California
Grade: Senior
Height: 5-11
Weight: 180
Birthdate:
Draft Projection: Fourth
Overall Rank: Unranked
NFL Draft Position (Rank): Wide Receiver (12)

Draft Result

Drafted in the 2008 Draft by the Tennessee Titans in the 4th round with the #28 pick.
Maybe Tennesee does not hate Vince Young after all as they finally draft a wide receiver. Considering they waited 4 rounds to pick one, they should consider themselves lucky to find one as polished as Hawkins. He may not be a game breaker but he could develop into a solid possession receiver.

Strengths

A solid deep threat who continues to improve dramatically as a receiving threat. Very impressive at the Senior Bowl and combine. Adjusts well to the ball in the air.

Weaknesses

Has to improve route running skills. Some question if Hawkins is a product of the system
