Drafted in the 2009 Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 1st round with the #32 pick.
Hood was drafted to add depth to an aging defensive line. Hood in my opinion isn't an ideal fit in a 3-4 but the Steelers obviously think he will.

High%20motor%20guy%20whose%20talents%20were%20lost%20at%20times%20on%20a%20porous%20defense%20at%20Missouri.%20%20Hood%20is%20active%20on%20the%20interior%20with%20a%20high%20energy%20lunchpail%20style%20that%20should%20serve%20him%20well%20in%20the%20NFL.%20%20One%20of%20the%20taller%20defensive%20tackles%20in%20a%20gravitationally%20challenged%20defensive%20tackle%20class.%20%20Hood%20plays%20well%20at%20the%20point%20of%20attack%20displaying%20excellent%20quickness%20and%20above%20average%20strength.%20%20Has%20an%20excellent%20spin%20move%20which%20allows%20him%20to%20penetrate%20and%20get%20to%20the%20quarterback.%20%20Three%20year%20starter%20with%20an%20excellent%20work%20ethic%20and%20leadership%20skills.%20%20Had%20a%20good%20week%20at%20the%20Senior%20Bowl%20drawing%20comparisons%20to%20last%20year's%20energizer%20bunny%20Trevor%20Laws.

Weaknesses

Tends%20to%20play%20too%20upright%20and%20is%20a%20tad%20undersized%20at%20a%20little%20under%20300%20pounds.%20%20After%20putting%20on%2045%20pounds%20at%20Missouri%20you%20want%20how%20much%20bigger%20he%20can%20get.%20%20Not%20great%20in%20any%20one%20facet%20of%20the%20game.%20%20Playing%20in%20the%20Big%2012%20he%20has%20not%20been%20forced%20to%20play%20against%20too%20many%20smashmouth%20running%20attacks.%20%20Could%20get%20pigeon%20holed%20as%20a%20one%20gap%20guy.
