Drafted in the 2009 Draft by the Denver Broncos in the 2nd round with the #5 pick.
Denver moves up and many think it is to grab Maualuga but instead they go with cornerback Alphonso Smith. Smith is a talented and instinctive but undersized corner and trading a 2010 first round pick for him was a questionable decision.
