Jason Jones
NFL Draft Scouting Report

Defensive End

Eastern Michigan

College Position: Defensive End
School: Eastern Michigan
Grade: Senior
Height: 6-5
Weight: 270
Birthdate:
Draft Projection: Third
Overall Rank: Unranked
NFL Draft Position (Rank): Defensive End (7)

Draft Result

Drafted in the 2008 Draft by the Tennessee Titans in the 2nd round with the #23 pick.
Needing a DE and DT, the Titans attempt to fill both needs with one pick. Jones has excellent size and shows pass rush instincts and should find a way on the field early for a depleted Titans D-line.

Strengths

Long arms allow Jones to use athletic frame to his fullest. Played at both tackle and end in college. Shoots the gap with authority to make plays behind the line of scrimmage

Weaknesses

Still learning how to become an edge rusher. Looked over matched during Senior Bowl practices. At 270 is too light to play a 3-4 DE and not fast enough to play 3-4 OLB.
