Strengths

  • Massive upper body and lower body strength. Very little fat for a 240lb running back.
  • Strong runner between the tackles out of the shotgun. Most power backs struggle out this formation. Blount sets up blockers out of formation without losing power.
  • Can make tacklers miss. Averaged 7.3 yards per carry in 2008. Running backs cannot average 7 yards a carry without consistently breaking big off big plays.

Weaknesses

  • Character, Character, Character! The most famous punch in major sports since Kermit Washington's punch thrown in a 1977 NBA game. Blount reportedly had anger problems prior to the Boise St incident.
  • Stone hands as a receiver. Only 4 receptions in 2 years at Oregon.
  • Must improve as a blocker.
