Draft Result

Drafted in the 2010 Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2nd round with the #22 pick.
An athletic pass rusher with tremendous size, long arms and athletic ability. First round talent who has not played up to expectations.

Strengths

  • Rare combination of size and speed.  Mario Williams-like in this regard
  • Excellent measureables
  • One of the most athletic defensive players at any position. Should wow scouts at the Combine
  • Natural pass rusher - 9.5 sacks each of the past two years
  • Uses long arms to advantage. Understands when its best to back off of a pass rush and get his hands up in air to deflect a pass
  • Quickness off the ball is second to none. Forces offensive tackles to play perfect technique

Weaknesses

  • Character risk. Had a DUI arrest right before the 2009 SEC Championship
  • Has not played up to his potential
  • Gets by more on natural talent than technique
  • Inconsistent effort.  His motor runs hot and cold
  • Does not display good instincts and awareness
  • Has a tendency to play too high
