Cameron Heyward
NFL Draft Scouting Report

Defensive End

Ohio State

College Position: Defensive End
School: Ohio State
Grade: Senior
Height: 6-5
Weight: 288
Birthdate: 05-06-1989
Draft Projection: Late First
Overall Rank: Unranked
NFL Draft Position (Rank): Defensive End (8)

Draft Result

Drafted in the 2011 Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 1st round with the #31 pick.
The Steelers needed more depth up front, and Heyward fits the bill as another 5-technique to fit in their 3-4. A hard worker with a great pedigree, he is a Dick Lebeau-type guy and should be a long-time Steeler. His athleticism will allow him to get pressure on the quarterback, and he has the strength to hold up at the point of attack in the run game.
