Notre Dame

School: Notre Dame
Grade: Junior

Draft Result

Drafted in the 2010 Draft by the Seattle Seahawks in the 2nd round with the #28 pick.
An explosive slot receiver who provides a playmaker for a stagnant offense. Dynamic returner.

Strengths

  • Biletnikoff Award winner in 2009 with 93 catches, 1,496 yards and 15 receiving TDs.  Also had 2 rushing touchdowns and 1 punt return touchdown
  • One of the best playmakers in the 2010 NFL Draft
  • Played in a pro style offense at Notre Dame allowing him to run a relatively complete route tree
  • Consistently catches the ball at its highest point (a la Larry Fitzgerald)
  • Tough, physical receiver who projects as an Anquan Boldin or Hines Ward type in the NFL
  • Tremendous acceleration and burst
  • Dangerous open field runner
  • Excellent returner
  • Gets in an out of his breaks quickly
  • Former running back who has experience playing some wildcat quarterback
  • Good leaper

Weaknesses

  • Still learning the receiver position and needs to polish his routes.  He got by on his athleticism and determination in college but will need refinement to excel at the next level
  • Undersized at 5'11 and he may measure even less than that
  • Despite his big play ability he is not a burner in the speed department. More quick than fast, don't be surprised if he runs a 4.45 - 4.55 40 yard dash
  • Struggled with body catching early in his ND career.  He improved in this area but needs to continue to focus on catching it with his hands
  • There is the risk that he could be more of a slot receiver than the #1 or #2 receiver he will be drafted to be
