Instinctive middle linebacker who will play alongside Jerod Mayo.

Strengths

  • Has tremendous football instincts. A natural born leader on defense
  • Solid understanding of pass coverage for a big linebacker. Returning for senior season helped Spikes develop in this area
  • Takes on blockers and holds his ground
  • Drives through ballcarriers and finishes tackles

 

   

Weaknesses

  • Great football player, but not the big time hitter one would expect
  • Lateral quickness can improve
  • Not a huge threat as a blitzer
  • Ran a 5.0-5.1 40 at his pro day.  That is DT speed.
