Draft Result

Drafted in the 2010 Draft by the Baltimore Ravens in Round 2 with the #11 pick.

Strengths

  • Versatile athlete - good combination of size, speed and strength
  • Ideal size for a rush linebacker - strong and well built
  • Tremendous hip movement. Moves well laterally and looks comfortable dropping into coverage
  • Explosive first step - nice burst off the ball and gets upfield quickly - 16 sacks and 28.5 TFL the past two years
  • Plays best going downhill and making plays in the backfield or in space
  • Position versatility - Starting experience as a defensive end and outside linebacker
  • First player ever selected as a finalist for both the Butkus (nation's best linebacker) and Hendricks (nation's top defensive end)
  • High upside - has the physical tools and playmaking ability to be an elite rush linebacker
  • Two year starter

Weaknesses

  • Struggles to shed blockers. More comfortable chasing than playing gap control. Must improve in this area if drafted to play 4-3 OLB
  • Lacks the bulk to play 4-3 DE. Will likely play OLB in either a 3-4 or 4-3
  • Below average awareness and anticipation - can be overaggressive and is overly reliant on athleticism
  • Coverage awareness is a work in process
