Strengths

  • All-around tight end prospect - comfortable in-line or out wide
  • Big target at 6-6, 253 lbs
  • Great hands, makes catches away from his body and secures the ball
  • High football IQ - Finds holes in zone coverage
  • Underrated athlete - enough speed to spread defenses and be a strong intermediate option
  • Willing blocker - sustains blocks throughout the play
  • Durable, played in 52 games and started the last 38 (3 year starter)
  • One of the stars of Senior Bowl week displaying underrated athleticism and tremendous hands throughout the week
  • 2010 Season: 39 receptions, 417 yards and 2 touchdowns
  • Had a catch in every game this season

Weaknesses

  • Despite his size has not been a big red zone option - (only 2 touchdowns this season)
  • Lacks elite tight end speed - not a vertical threat
  • Has trouble getting separation against man coverage
  • Average pass blocker, can be beat by speed rushers
