Natural pass rusher who had 10 sacks and 18.5 TFL in 2007. Battled injuries in 2008-2009 accumulating 13.5 sacks in limited action. Has work ethic concerns.

Strengths

  • Ideal body type for a 4-3 DE
  • Natural pass rusher
  • Can move inside to play tackle on 3rd down
  • Sheds blockers and doesn't give up a lot of ground
  • Tremendous athleticism - played on the Ole Miss basketball team as a freshman
  • Has the potential to be a dynamic pass rusher and solid two way defensive end
 

Weaknesses

  • Durability - missed numerous games the last two years due to leg and foot injuries
  • Injuries caused him to be more of a situational pass rusher the past two years
  • Depends too much on natural talent. Tends to get lazy on technique
  • Concerns about his work ethic

  • Could be this year's Michael Johnson - A 1st round talent who falls to the 3rd round due to effort and concerns about his ability to reach his potential
