Draft Result

Drafted in the 2010 Draft by the Detroit Lions in the 4th round with the #30 pick.
Fundamentally sound, tough and has a high football IQ. Dropped due to injury concerns. Could challenge for a starting job.

Strengths

  • 4 year starter with 47 career starts
  • Good size and frame
  • High football IQ
  • Tough
  • Seals the edge consistently in the running game. Off tackle plays to the left were Miami's best source of big yards in the running game the last three years
  • Good leader
  • Solid fundamentals
  • Not outstanding but solid across the board
  • Position versatility - can play either right or left tackle
  • Proved he was healthy with a solid combine workout

Weaknesses

  • Senior season ended prior to the Champ Sports Bowl due to a knee injury
  • Durability - how serious is the knee injury? Also had an irregular heart beat
  • Heavy legged waist bender
  • Needs to improve upper body strength - does not always push people off the ball
  • Limited upside
