Draft Result

Drafted in the 2010 Draft by the New York Jets in the 2nd round with the #29 pick.
A raw developmental prospect with high upside who will be asked to fill Alan Faneca's left guard spot.

Strengths

  • Three year starter at UMass. 2009 FCS 1st team All American
  • Dominant run blocker. Shows good balance and dominates at the point of attack
  • Uses long arms to lock on to defenders and finish blocks
  • Athletic frame
  • Has the physical tools you look for in a lineman
  • Looks the part - has rare size
  • Good work ethic and very coachable
  • Immigrated to the United States in 2002 from Haiti.  When you listen to Ducasse speak you can hear the desire to succeed in his words

Weaknesses

  • Skills appear to fit best at guard - played left tackle at UMass, but does not have the lack of lateral quickness to play this position at the next level
  • Needs to use his hands better
  • Struggles with speed
  • Talented yet raw.  Needs to refine his technique
  • Awareness is an issue.  It will take Ducasse time to completely understand blitz pickups as a pass blocker
  • Up and down performance at the Senior Bowl.  Displayed potential but also showed he is very much a work in progress.
