Draft Result

Drafted in the 2010 Draft by the Atlanta Falcons in the 5th round with the #4 pick.
An athletic corner who probably should have returned to school. Has good ball skills and coverage awareness. Landed on a team needing depth at corner.

Strengths

  • Good size for a corner
  • All Big 12 first team corner in 2009 (2nd team in 2008)
  • Above average athleticism
  • Smooth backpedal and transitions well
  • Displays good coverage awareness and anticipation in zone coverage
  • Solid man coverage skills
  • Excellent recovery speed
  • Teams did not throw his way nearly as much in 2009 the testament of what opponents thought of his ability
  • Two year starter

Weaknesses

  • Lacks great hands - gets his hands on a lot of balls but does not catch them well enough
  • Vulnerable to double moves
  • Average but not great speed (4.5 range)
  • Not a physical tackler and not a big factor in run support
  • Has a good skillset but he looks a lot like several other of this year's corner class and would have benefitted from another year at Oklahoma in which he could have moved to the top of the corner class instead in the upper middle.
