2013 NFL Combine - Day 3 Impressions
After the workouts are complete, there are always players that have impressed and others that failed to live up to expectations. These are players who will get more tape time as they didn't quite match my expectations and may have to move up or down my board. Here are the players that impacted me today.
Winners
DE Barkevious Mingo (LSU)
Mingo jumped off the charts, both literally and figuratively. His performance in the drills backed up what he did in the workouts.

DE/34LB Ezekial "Ziggy" Ansah (BYU)
A converted basketball player from Ghana, Ansah may have made the biggest impact on his draft stock at the combine. He was sensational in drills and impressive in workouts and the comparisons to Jason Pierre-Paul may not be that far off.

DT Shariff Floyd (Florida)
Floyd may have taken over as the top defensive tackle today after a dominating performance in the drills.
OLB Zaviar Gooden (Missouri)
Already known for his athleticism, Gooden impressed by coming in as one of the top players in every workout including a blazing 4.47 40 time.

Losers
DT Star Lotulelei (Utah)
A medical issue with his heart was found during physicals. Not only was he not allowed to workout, but the realities of the NFL are that this likely means a drop in his stock.

DE Damontre Moore (Texas A&M)
Slow and weak is not usually a recipe for success as an NFL defensive end. I mean only 12 reps? A 4.95 40? Seriously going to take some effort for Moore to overcome this lackluster performance.

DE/34LB Sam Montgomery (LSU)
Holy character concerns. During his time with the media, Montgomery admitted to taking plays off and thinks he can just flip a switch and be on at the NFL level. Big red flag for me even if he does look good in drills.
ILB Manti Te'o (Notre Dame)
I'm leary to list Te'o here, as I won't be moving him on my board. His 4.8 40 time was what I expected, and his performance in the drills didn't change my view of him. He is what most of us thought, an instinctive linebacker who can make plays but is not the elite athlete.
