2013 NFL Combine - Day 2 Impressions
After the workouts are complete, there are always players that have impressed and others that failed to live up to expectations. These are players who will get more tape time as they didn't quite match my expectations and may have to move up or down my board. Here are the players that impacted me today.
Winners
RB Knile Davis (Arkansas)
After starting the season with high expectations, Davis failed to deliver. Whether this was because of the coaching change or that he wasn't fully healed, we didn't know. However, today he showed that he is still a super fast back that has the great speed/size combination that teams love and can make good cuts on his healed ankle.

RB Christine Michael (Texas A&M)
A workout warrior, Michael was impressive in nearly every drill and workout including dominating performances in the jumps (43" vertical and 10" 5' broad). He has the size to be an every down back, he just needs to show more consistency on the field.

WR Ryan Swope (Texas A&M)
Swope was quick, fast, and smart today. He ran very well and made some great catches while getting both feet down at the sidelines. His small hands are a bit of a concern, though.
WR Josh Boyce (TCU)
There wasn't a drill that Boyce didn't excel in. He definitely has me going back to check out tape, as he seems to have all the characteristics of a top receiver (although not necessarily elite).

Losers
QB All
This pack of quarterbacks has been a tight group with no one really jumping out and taking the lead. And none of them did today either. They continue to be marred by inconsistencies, at times making great throws and then following them with poor throws.

RB Montee Ball (Wisconsin)
Ball was very pedestrian with no explosiveness nor speed. He appears to be more a result of the Wisconsin system and large offensive line.

WR Terrance Williams (BYU)
A tough battle between the top receivers for draft selection wasn't won by Williams whose struggles today may have dropped him to the mid-rounds of the draft .
WR Ace Sanders (South Carolina)
At his size (5-7, 173lbs), Sanders needed to show elite speed and/or quickness. Not showing either may cause this draft prospect to go undrafted.
