Pro Day Re-Cap: March 3rd - March 12th

With the Senior Bowl and Combine in the rear view mirror the focus has shifted to Pro Days where players get their last chance to impress the scounts and some players such as Northwestern's Corey Wooten and Arizona's Rob Gronkowski make their only post-season appearance after skipping the Senior Bowl and Combine workouts.   Keeping up with all the workouts is not feasible but here are some highlights from the first 10 days.

March 3rd

Buffalo - Safety Mike Newton shines.   James Starks did not workout after performing all the drills at the combine.

March 4th

Kansas State - DE Jeffrey Fitzgerald tests well.

March 8th

Utah - 16 of 32 teams attened the Utes Pro Day.  Misi worked out as a linebacker and continues to boost his stock. S Robert Johnson impressed in drills.

March 9th

Auburn - Undersized cornerback Walter McFadden bulks up and runs a blazing 40 while DE/OLB Antonio Coleman had an up and down day

Indiana - Bengals offensive line coach worked out G/T Rodger Saffold.  Jammie Kirlew improved his combine results across the board.  CB/WR Ray Fisher and LB Matt Mayberry also turned some heads.

Western Michigan - Scout.com's Chris Steuber tweeted: "I'm reporting that reps from the Saints, Chiefs, Jets, Lions attended Western Michigan's Pro Day yesterday. QB Tim Hiller did well."

March 10th

Alabama - All 32 team's attended to the Crimson Tide's pro day and highlights included DTTerrence Cody dropping some weight, CB Javier Arenas was unable to workout with a bad hamstring and Mike Johnson getting some work at center.  The biggest news of the day however was Rolando McClain's admission of having Crohn's Disease after doubling over in pain near the end of his workout and running a solid 40.

California - CB Syd'Quan Thompson runs slow as expected

Cincinnati - QB Tony Pike and WR Mardy Gilyard had a solid pro day including an improved 40 for Gilyard.

Kansas - RB Jake Sharp shined and WR Dezmon Briscoe improved at the Jayhawks pro day

Kentucky - ILB Micah Johnson improved his 40.

Maryland - OT Bruce Campbell sat on his numbers and did not workout.  A questionable move for a player whose stock is soaring on athleticism but remains questionable on tape.

Oklahoma State - Perrish Cox (suspension) and Dez Bryant (hamstring) did not workout with the teamAndre Sexton runs a solid 40.

Rutgers - OT Anthony Davis called in sick for his Pro Day.  After a disappointing combine, Davis needed to at least show up and perform position drills.  Attitude and work ethic concerns will continue to drag down his stock.  Its just a matter of how far.

March 11th

UAB - QB/WR Joe Webb had an impressive pro day including excellent test results across the board.  At 6'3" 226 lbs. he is an intriquing option in the wildcat era and his willingness to workout at wide receiver at his pro day and at the Senior Bowl has elevated his stock.

Clemson - RB CJ Spiller and WR Jacoby Ford did not run but performed drills in a rain soaked pro day.

Nebraska - 24 scouts attended the Cornhuskers pro day including drills by Ndamukong Suh and an improved 40 by S Larry Asante.

Northwestern - Mike Kafka has an impressive Pro Day.  Meanwhile, DE Corey Wooten and CB Sherrick McManis will not workout until March 29th.

March 12th

Arizona - DT Earl Mitchell worked out in offensive and defensive drills while Devin Ross failed to improve his 40 time. TE Rob Gronkowski's much anticipated workout is scheduled for March 28th.

Michigan - CB Donovan Warren improved his 40 while Brandon Graham sat out with an injury.  Both players will workout again on April 9th.

Ohio State - Indiana-PA's Akwasi Owusa-Ansah stole the show at the Ohio State Pro Day.
