2010 NFL Draft: Top 10 LB Prospects
- Brandon Spikes (Florida, 6-3 260lbs): Spikes could start for several NFL teams now at either 4-3 MLB or 3-4 ILB. Spikes has the size, speed and toughness to anchor the middle of a defense.
- Rolando McClain # (Alabama, 6-4 255lbs): McClain has the added advantage of playing in Nick Saban's 3-4 scheme to pad his impressive NFL resume. McClain is an underrated blitzer
- Sean Witherspoon (Missouri, 6-2 225lbs): 18.5 TFL is a mind blowing stat for a 4-3 WLB. Witherspoon has an Ernie Sims type of game
- Sergio Kindle (Texas, 6-4 255lbs): Kindle has experiece at both DE and OLB. With the loss of Brian Orakpo, will Kindle get more snaps at DE this year?
- Joe Pawelek (Baylor, 6-2 255lbs): Pawelek is a tackling machine and is excellent in pass coverage. 5 ints in a pass happy league like the Big 12 in 2008 should answer any questions about quickness.
- Micah Johnson (Kentucky, 6-2 255lbs): Micah Johnson is a superstar and would get more pub if Spikes and McClain weren't in the same league. Micah Johnson makes plays in the backfields as well with 13 TFL in 2008.
- Sean Lee (Penn St, 6-2 240lbs): After missing all of 2008 with an ACL injury, Lee is hoping to regain his 2007 production.
- Eric Norwood ( South Carolina, 6-1 255lbs): Norwood is an outstanding pass rusher as a linebacker with 9 sacks a year ago. Lack of height could hurt NFL stock.
- Rico McCoy (Tennessee, 6-1 220lbs): Undersized by NFL standards, but has the skill set to be dominant in Monte Kiffin's Tampa 2 scheme. McCoy could fly up draft boards similar to former teammate Jerod Mayo
- Mark Herzlich (Boston College, 6-4 240lbs): This is truly a tragic story. Herzlich would have been near the top of this list if not for his life threatning bone cancer. We wish Mark Herzlich the best of luck, he has been a pleasure to watch during his BC career. If there is anyone who could overcome this disease and make it in the NFL its Mark Herzlich.
